The Manu BioStation occupies a small clearing just off the Blanco River, consisting of stilted "tent lodges". Our camp for the night is upon these tent lodges, thatched-roof building platforms.

At near dusk we hiked along the Blanco River trail upstream to waiting dugout canoes.
As the night shines with thousands of stars overhead we paddled slowly downstream caiman watching on the way back to camp.
